Introduction

First, welcome to Marie, a new subscriber. So far, the subscription list has four relatives and five subscribers. True, the list is not large, but it is a start.

Crest

In last month's newsletter, I mentioned there was a mystery involving the crest depicted on the website (and above). I let you know that if you researched the data on the website, you should be able to determine the mystery.

The answer to the mystery is this: the crest is a variation of the Irish branch not English branch. It is speculated that decades ago, my great-grandmother saw the crests in the Molyneux History book and wanted one painted to hang on the wall. Perhaps by mistake, she chose the Irish branch crest (No. 7 on the "Coats of Arms" page) and not the English branch (No. 6).

Our family is considering what to do. We may either use the No. 6 crest or the crest depicted on the opening page of the Molyneux History book (see picture at bottom of Coats of Arms). Once we decide which crest to use, either we will paint a new wall hanging or have someone do it for us.

In any case, the crest at the top of the page is the only crest we have come to know for our family. Therefore, I feel that once we have the new crest prepared, both will be depicted on this website.

Family Tree

I have decided to break down the Molyneux trees into three branches: French, English, Irish. As I find data I will add it to the appropriate page. I am starting to receive inquiries regarding where someone may tie into the trees. As mentioned many times before, my goal is to get the trees developed as current as possible so that if someone knows the names of their relatives prior to their grandparents, they should be able to find their family tree on this website.

Other Links

I continue to add new links as I find them. I am still researching the links mentioned in last months newsletter. The problem is that you find a link on one site, then a link on that site, and so on and so on. It is a maze of information out there. You simply have to review each site to see if it has any data you are looking for.

Crest History

I have added a scanned picture from the Molyneux History book that depicts a different/clearer version of No. 6 on the "Coats of Arms" page.

Thoughts & Pictures

I have not added anything new. I am continuing to look for additional information to add.

Last But Not Least

Continue the journey as I am doing. Locate one piece of information that leads to another, then another and so on, and so on.........

As always, if my website peeks your interest to research your family tree (Molyneux or other) then the website has served its purpose.

I appreciate any comments and suggestions regarding this newsletter and the website overall.
