The Molyneux Family

The purpose of the website is to document not only the ancestral history of our family line, but as much of the Molyneux ancestry as possible. The website contains an organizational chart (family tree) not only of our family but other families that tie into ours.

The General History page provides a basic background for our family. To date, our family tree has been traced back to Vivian de Molyneux around the year 1066 in England. As new data is discovered, the data will be added to the site.

I have set up several family trees (Molyneux and Others). The initial tree produced was the direct lineage of my ancestors (Mark Molyneux on menu). I then decided to produce Molyneux trees based on the History of Molyneux book by Nellie Zada Rice Molyneux. I have also started trees for Other family names that tie into my personal ancestry.

The Mark Molyneux Tree page contains the most current history found for our family. All the research for this page has been performed by Sue and Bill Molyneux (my parents). As new data is discovered, it is being added. Whenever possible, the sources for the data are included.

Two separate pages provide links to other web sites. The first page is for other Molyneux sites (includes different spellings). The second page is for other web links.

A page has been set aside to trace the various spellings of the Molyneux name. Any history for that origin of spelling is included.

The history of our crest and Heraldry in general can be found on the Crest History page. Sources for the information have been included. Also included are pictures of other Molyneux crests from different regions around Europe.

I have included a page of thoughts and pictures you may find interesting and enlightening.

As new and additional information is discovered, it will be added to current or new web pages.
